Metering Fees
METER TESTING: If the meter is found to have an error of four percent (4%) or greater, the cost of testing shall be borne by the Borough, otherwise this shall be an expense of the customer.
Initial Meter Installation Inspection: No Charge
Subsequent Meter Inspections: $30.00
TURN-ON and TURN-OFF Fees: $30.00 per each
Fees will be assessed when a customer requests that service be turned off for a period in excess of one (1) week, or when service is terminated or shut off because of the customer’s failure to pay water service charges.
Water service will be restored only after payment to the Borough for the costs of discontinuance and restoration of service and all other arrearages.
REINSTALLATION OF METERS: The charge for the reinstallation of a water meter when removed for repairs due to damage that was no fault to the Borough, shall be the greater of the actual cost of labor, parts, replacement and testing (if required).

Monthly billing for water service shall commence with the initial introduction of water to the facility.
Consumption Charges: To customers within the Borough: $4.96 per 1,000 gallons.
Consumption Charges to Municipalities Outside the Borough: Buffalo Township, Limestone Township shall pay a rate of $8.98 per 1,000 gallons of water consumed. West Buffalo Township shall pay a rate of $8.09 per 1,000 gallons of water consumed.
Multi-Unit Installations
Owners of existing multi-unit or combination unit installations may install one meter for all units in the building(s) or install individual meters for each unit. If individual meters are installed, then each unit within the building must be served by independent plumbing and no unit shall be registering water usage by another tenant or unit.
The owner of a multi-unit or combination unit installation utilizing independent metering for each unit will receive individual bills for each unit. The owner shall be the primary responsible party for the payment of these bills.
The owner of a multi-unit or combination unit installation utilizing one metered service shall receive one monthly bill that includes one monthly service charge for each metered service based upon the meter size(s) and one 5/8” – 3/4” service charge for each unit within the multi-unit or combined unit development, plus the metered consumption charge for all water used. The owner shall be the primary responsible party for the payment of this bill.
The Borough will not provide individual meters for mobile home courts.
These charges shall apply to every monthly billing cycle.
Miscellaneous
SWIMMING POOLS: Water for the filling of residential swimming pools may be obtained from the customer’s metered facilities or may be completed as follows:
Authorization to obtain water from a hydrant for the direct hose filling of a pool or for filling a tank truck for relay to the pool site must be obtained from the Borough. The final decision as to direct or relay filling shall be rendered by the Borough.
CHARGES:
- $100.00 for meter and valve rental, plus
- applicable consumption charge per 1,000 gallons for the water, and
- an additional flat fee surcharge of $50.00 if the service extends beyond normal maintenance employee working hours.
