The Borough of Mifflinburg will be replacing the booster pump station near the reservoir tanks on Route 304. In order to prepare for this work, the water main on Old Orchard Lane needs to be replaced as it is in poor condition. Dave Gutelius Excavating was hired to do the work and will be starting the week of July 20th replacing the water main on Old Orchard Lane from Quarry Rd to the Booster Station. This work will include construction of new watermain, new valving, customer services and the replacement of the water pumping booster station. There will also be some yard and/or driveway restoration to reconnect customer services and to provide electric service to the new booster station. At the start of and during the project there will be times when water will be shut-off to make new connections. Some of these shut-offs will require boil water advisories. During these boil water advisories, effected customers in the area will be properly notified. Access to the area may be limited. When the contractor will be working directly in front your residence, direct access to your home might be restricted so please plan accordingly. Please plan ahead for deliveries, parking and/or access to your properties. You may want to consider alternate routes for traveling to and from the area as well. If you have further questions or concerns, please contact the Borough Office at 570-966-1013.

Utility Bill Payment Options
The Borough of Mifflinburg offers several payment options for customers to use to pay their utility bill:
* Cash, check, or money order at the Borough Office. There is a locked payment box in the lobby to allow payments to occur 24 hours per day.
* Checks or Money Orders can be mailed to the Borough Office.
* Credit Card payments are accepted online via the Borough website.
* Auto-deduction of Utility payment from a bank account. This payment will happen on or around the 15th of each month.
Some customers have requested to be able to participate in a budget payment plan. While the Borough’s current billing software does not allow for this billing method, customers could still opt to pay ahead on their account to smooth their costs during the higher use months. In effect making their own budget plan, these customers would be advised to start this in advance of their higher usage months, because the Borough will still require that accounts remain current.
More information about payment options is available on the FAQ page under the Utilities tab.

YMCA Serves Families in Mifflinburg
Greater Susquehanna Valley YMCA Supports Mifflinburg Families This Summer
Mifflinburg, PA — The Greater Susquehanna Valley YMCA stepped in this summer to help meet vital community needs in Mifflinburg, ensuring local children had access to healthy meals and safe recreation opportunities.
Each week throughout the summer, more than 143 children received nutritious food for breakfast and lunch—seven days a week— through the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) operated by the Milton YMCA. This program helps fill the gap for families during the months when school meals are unavailable, ensuring that children remain nourished and ready to thrive.
In addition to food security, the YMCA partnered with the Mifflinburg Borough to help operate the Mifflinburg Pool, providing children and families with a safe and welcoming place to enjoy the summer. The Mifflinburg Kiwanis Club provided free swimming lessons to children in the beginner’s level. Thanks to their generous support, the YMCA was able to offer 107 swim lessons to 88 local children, giving them life-saving water safety skills and building their confidence in and around the water.
“Feeding kids and teaching them how to be safe in the water are two of the most important ways we can serve our community,” said Angela Haines, GSV YMCA Director of Operations. “We’re grateful for the partnerships and generosity that made this possible in Mifflinburg.”
By working together, the Greater Susquehanna Valley YMCA, Mifflinburg Borough, Milton YMCA, and Mifflinburg Kiwanis Club helped strengthen the community, making sure every child had the opportunity for a healthier, safer summer.
