Cleaning up larval habitat can have one of the largest impacts on mosquito population. Residents are encouraged to remove all standing water from their property. Artificial habitats such as bird baths, tires, unsealed rain barrels, children’s toys, or anything else that holds stagnant water for more than 4 days can begin to breed mosquitoes.
Residents are encouraged to take the following precautions:
* Stay indoors during peak mosquito hours (dusk to dawn)
* Wear long sleeves, pants, and closed toes shoes, if possible.
* Wear EPA registered repellents.
